Emma Watson addresses Prince Harry dating rumors

(CNN)-Emma Watson took to Twitter on Sunday to quell rumors that she and Prince Harry are dating, reminding the world that marrying a prince is "not a prerequisite for being a Princess."

The speculation stemmed from a report last week in an Australian tabloid that the pair "are having secret dates" and "getting to know each other quite well."

The report brought despairing cries from admirers of the red-haired royal and the actor-turned-activist.

The world finally heard from Watson on Sunday, when she tweeted a strong indication that the rumors were not to be believed.

"WORLD ... Remember that little talk we had about not believing everything written in the media?!" she said.

She came back later in the day with a retort to tabloid fodder suggesting that Watson was angling to become the next princess, saying that "marrying a Prince (is) not a prerequisite for being a Princess."

The tweet included a link to a clip from director Alfonso Cuaron's big screen adaptation of the novel "A Little Princess," which includes this famous line: "I am a princess. All girls are; even if they live in tiny old attics, even if they dress in rags, even if they aren't pretty or smart or young, they're still princesses."

FYI, Emma Watson Has A Gloriously Dorky Ringtone On Her Phone

The best kind.

Emma Watson suffered the tiniest and most elegant of interview mishaps this week when her phone unexpectedly rang during an interview with ITV's Lorraine.

Emma was in the midst of discussing the latest movie (Colonia) when her phone buzzed. But fortunately, this told us more than just how damn polite the girl is—it also sneakily revealed her ringtone, which is Tina Turner's 1989 song 'Steamy Windows'.

Oh, Emma.

The 26-year-old hastily turned her phone off, but, alas, the damage was already done.

"That is so embarrassing. That is my phone," she said. "That is Tina Turner."

And not just any Tina Turner. Foreign Affair era Tina Turner.

Emma Watson On Kristen Stewart: ‘Everyone Makes Mistakes’

Kristen Stewart can always count on Emma Watson to help fight her battles. And we’re not talking about the Vampy kind. Emma has weighed in on Kristen’s controversial hook-up with Rupert Sanders, saying: “Everyone makes mistakes”.

The British actress was talking to Italian Vogue when the subject of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson‘s relationship cropped up (obvs). She said: “Kristen is human, just like everybody else, and she’s so young. Everyone makes mistakes, everyone. It’s not fair to consider them matters of public interest.”

She added: “Those who criticised her are the same people that think that being rich and famous is like being covered in some kind of magic powder that makes life perfect. Nothing can go wrong in your wonderful world.

“For these people, Kristen deserves all the bad things that have been thrown at her because she had an amazing life and she ruined it.”

Harsh, but true. However, Emma did admit she understands the obsession with Kristen and Rob’s relationship.

She said: “On one hand, I can understand why it happened: people felt really involved in her relationship with Robert Pattinson. But it’s also true that they both have done everything in their power to keep their relationship as far from the public eye as possible.”

Emma Watson: Kissing Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe ‘got boring’

Harry Potter fans would probably disagree but
Emma Watson claims that puckering up to co-stars
Daniel Radcliffe and
Rupert Grint got ‘quite boring’.

The actress revealed both smooches were ‘equally awkward’ but after the initial discomfort, she started getting bored.

She said at a press conference to promote Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two: ‘It was obviously hard to put our personal history to one side because we did grow up together but I think they don’t mind me saying, if you’ve done this once, four or five times kissing gets quite boring.’

The actress had to kiss Radcliffe in the first part of Deathly Hallows and has to pucker up to Grint in the latest – and final – movie.

She explained: ‘Kissing Dan, kissing Harry in that scene was a figment of Ron’s [Grint] imagination of the worst possible thing he could ever imagine so the kiss had to be passionate.

‘I was half-naked and covered in paint so that was pretty awkward.’
Watson added that kissing Rupert was just as bizarre.

‘We’d just been soaked by an enormous bucket of water which hurt., which we had to pretend we didn’t know was going to happen but we knew was coming.

‘That was equally awkward and weird so both strange situations to be in. Both were complete gentlemen.’

Watson recently admitted that her first teenage crush was her other Harry Potter co-star Tom Felton , who plays Draco Malfoy.

When quizzed if she would have liked to have kissed him in the films, she replied with a firm ‘no’.

She said: ‘His beautiful girlfriend is sitting on the other side of the room so no, I don’t think so.

‘My 12-year-old self would say yes, but my 21-year-old self, no.’

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two premieres in Trafalgar Square tomorrow and the film is released on July 15.

Emma Watson defends Kristen Stewart in cheating scandal 'everyone makes mistakes'

In July 2012, the 22-year-old "Snow White and the Huntsman" star found herself involved in a scandalous affair with the married director of the film, Rupert Sanders, and now Watson has spoken out on the situation, stating that Stewart is only human.

"Kristen is human, just like everybody else, and she's so young. Everyone makes mistakes, everyone. It's not fair to consider them matters of public interest," Watson, 22, told the latest issue of Vanity Fair Italia.

Stewart, who publically apologized for her indiscretions, was in a relationship with her "Twilight" co-star Robert Pattinson at the time the shocking pics of her and Sanders surfaced, causing outage for Twi-hards everywhere.

"On one hand, I can understand why it happened: people felt really involved in her relationship with Robert Pattinson. But it's also true that they both have done everything in their power to keep their relationship as far from the public eye as possible," Watson said about the two lovers who have since rekindled their relationship since the scandal.

Ross filed for divorce from her philandering husband on Jan. 25, six months after his affair with the young Stewart went public.

Emma Watson denies tax-dodging after being named in Panama Papers leak

The 26-year-old Harry Potter star's has appeared in a searchable database containing more details about the Panama Papers tax-dodging scandal.

A staggering 11 million documents, said to be from secretive Panama law firm Mossack Fonseca, reveal how the rich and famous legally avoid paying tax using offshore companies.

Prime ministers, presidents, celebrities and Fifa officials are among those who have been exposed.

But Watson’s spokesman claims she listed her company in the British Virgin Islands to protect her privacy.

According to reports Watson is anxious over her security, including unwanted approaches by her fans.

In 2014, it was revealed she was forced to hire a bodyguard for £90,000 to protect her from stalkers.

Watson’s spokesman said: "Emma (like many high profile individuals) set up an offshore company for the sole purpose of protecting her anonymity and safety.

"UK companies are required to publicly publish details of their shareholders and therefore do not give her the necessary anonymity required to protect her personal safety, which has been jeopardised in the past owing to such information being publicly available.

"Offshore companies do not publish these shareholder details.

"Emma receives absolutely no tax or monetary advantages from this offshore company whatsoever – only privacy."

Among those listed in the Panama Papers was Prime Minister David Cameron’s late dad, Ian, who died in 2010.

Using offshore companies is legal but Mr Cameron has repeatedly slammed schemes that hold money out of British jurisdictions to avoid UK tax as "morally wrong".

Harry Potter's Rupert Grint says kissing Emma Watson was a 'strange' experience

The 20-year-old actor finally hooks up with Watson's Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which is due out next month.

"We've known each other for 10 years so it was a bit like kissing my sister," he told the Mail on Sunday.

"We were determined to get it right the first time, but our first try was a disaster because we both felt so self-conscious and we couldn't stop laughing."

While Grint's film love life may be hotting up, the actor says he is in no rush to throw himself into off-screen romances.

Despite the attentions of Harry Potter fans the young millionaire says he is "quite insecure" around girls and has yet to find anyone to suit his "weird" tastes.

"I've never been seriously involved with anyone. I've certainly never been in love. I've always preferred to keep things casual," he said.

"It's not that I find it hard to meet girls – they do come up and chat me up from time to time. Sometimes I'm interested, I tend not to go for the prettier ones. I prefer the quirkier types."

Grint's anxieties are not confined to affairs of the heart. Although lauded by critics for his Harry Potter performances, he admits to doubting his own acting abilities and worrying about his future prospects.

"It's always at the back of my mind that acting might come to an end for me when Harry Potter finishes. I don't know if I'm good enough to have a long career," he said.

"I've got a bit of an inferiority complex about my acting. My self-esteem is quite low in that sense."

Emma Watson finds her true love in this Harry Potter colleague

Looks like Hermione’s love potion has worked on Emma Watson as she has reportedly found her true love.

According to sources, the 25-year-old actor was seen with a mystery man named Roberto Aguire, whom Emma met on the set of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. “I was doing an internship in the special effects department at the time,” he recalled to JustJaredJr.com back in 2012, “and one day we had a chance encounter that lead to us spending half a day together exchanging stories and dance moves. We never really lost touch after that and now she’s one of my best friends.”

Aguire is an actor and has appeared in Struck by Lightning and Robin Williams’ last film, Boulevard.

The gender equality activist sported an oversized white blouse and long denim skirt while her new hunk rocked a pair of black thick-framed glasses, a baseball cap, a T-shirt and a pair of lace-up sneakers at a recent outing. Insiders revealed that the duo kept their date a low key affair and went for lunch at Los Feliz.

Emma Watson also “almost quit” Harry Potter

Turns out it wasn't just Daniel Radcliffe having doubts during the Harry Potter years.

Former Harry Potter exec David Heyman told The Hollywood Reporter that Emma Watson almost hung up her wizarding robes because (in a very Hermione move) she wanted to focus on her schoolwork.

Talking about negotiating contracts for each Potter film, Heyman said that:

"Emma [Watson], in particular, was quite academic and was very keen in pursuit of schooling and was wrestling a little bit more than the others. So each time there was a negotiation, it was not about a financial [matter], it really was about, 'Do I want to be a part of this?'"

Despite the "tipping point", when the producers admitted they had to "be sensitive to her needs and how important school was to her", Emma Watson happily decided to stay on for the whole franchise - but also got a good education, later attending Brown University. And while she had to take a two-year gap during her degree to focus on promotional duties for the films, she told Rookie magazine that she enjoyed the freedom of studying on set:

"Really, I've kind of been in charge of my own education since I started out on  Potter when I was nine or ten."

Shock news for Harry Potter fans: Daniel Radcliffe revealed he almost quit the film franchise after the third instalment was made. His reason? To avoid being typecast.

Emma Watson also “almost quit” Harry Potter

Speaking to The Guardian, Radcliffe revealed that once filming for The Prisoner Of Azkaban had wrapped, he considered leaving midway through the series to try and audition for other roles:

"By the third film, I thought, if there's a time to get out, it's now; there's still enough time for another actor to come in and establish himself… For a while I thought, if I do all of them, will I be able to move on to other stuff or should I start doing other stuff now?"

Luckily for Potter fans, Radcliffe, who was just 14 at the time, decided to stay playing Harry for the next five films - because he'd miss his cast-mates, and because he realised just how good a role it was for him at the time, adding, "Actually there aren't many great parts out there for teenage boys, certainly not as good as Harry Potter".

Despite that blip during his career as a boy wizard, Daniel insists that he no longer resents the role that made him famous - describing it as a "very cool thing that did wonders for the British film industry", despite the fact "you might not always be happy with the work you did on it".

And he refuses to distance himself from Potter, comparing it with Paul McCartney not wanting to talk about the Beatles:

"I know that Potter is going to be with me for the rest of my life, so to try to set a goal where nobody talks about that anymore is stupid".

It's now 10 years down the line from when Daniel made that fateful decision, and we can't imagine anyone else playing the bespectacled wizard. With an upcoming role in Kill Your Darlings, plus multiple stage and screen roles under his belt, since the Potter movies, we think he made the right decision.
